I am a criminal defense attorney and sole owners of the Law Office Of Kathy J. Sayles PLLC in Waxahachie. I went to law school in my 40’s while raising two sons and worked as a prosecutor for a couple of years before opening my own practice. I was born and raised in West Texas on a ranch right outside of Midland and came to North Texas in the early 2000s.
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I have two grown sons and a daughter-in-law. My oldest son is 24 and will soon be starting a job with the Richardson Fire Department. His wife is in her last semester at Tarleton studying Kinesiology and my youngest son is 20 a sophomore at Tarleton State University studying Business Administration.
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
Prior to going to law school and spent many years as a legal specialist for Child Protective Services and some time as a Felony Probation Officer housed in Oak Cliff.

Become engaged with your community and don’t rest in the idea that ones in government have the issues handled.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch?
Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
Don’t really have one but if I did we would go to Freshly.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
My favorite thing is the history and how there is still so much original left in this town.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Continue to work as attorney helping people and protecting them through the justice system.
